Summary:

Through a combination of media manipulations, voter dis-enfranchisement, and white supremacist terrorism, the United States government has fallen to white Christian Nationalists and dubbed the North American Republic. Open resistance on the coasts and a Midwest holdout have been put down with military force. Texas is run by Military General/Governor JD Morgan with brutal, Bible-thumping zeal from a shiny Austin high-rise. His son Jared is set to follow in his footsteps when Jared is kidnapped by a once respected gender-reassignment surgeon, who in act of revenge, subjects Jared to surgical and genetic alterations. During a raid on the doctor’s secret underground lab, Jared is plucked from the clutches of his kidnapper and lands in the company of another of his father’s enemies. Rebel leader Jensen Ackles has sworn to bring down the governor’s administration by any means necessary. He initially sees Jared as a pawn and allows him to be ransomed to Morgan, but the two are brought back together after an explosion that leaves dozens of people dead. As they attempt to elude authorities, the fugitives negotiate an understanding and question the future.
