Summary:
Castiel has spent millennia travelling the universe, helping his fellow angels to restore planets whose native species had brought them to the brink of destruction. He never questioned his mission, accepting that the possession and control of sentient beings was necessary for his success. That was, until his latest mission led him to earth and to two human brothers, who taught him about free will and showed him that not everything was as it seemed. Trapped between two opposite world views and pressured to act fast, Castiel has to make a choice – something he was never meant to do.

No matter how often it had happened to him before, the angel was always astonished how smooth the transition was. Travelling thousands of lightyears shouldn’t feel this instant. One moment he was laying down his vessel to give them back to the community on his former planet, then he would open his fresh eyes and view the different world before him.
